Columbus Community Hospital is a 40-bed, acute care medical and surgical facility recognized throughout the community for its service and excellence. Columbus provides its patients the best that advanced technology has to offer combined with the warm personalized care of a hometown facility.
For five years running, the National Rural Health Association has named CCH a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital in the country. In 2021, NRHA named CCH a Top 20 Rural and Community Hospital.
Our patients can expect “your health matters” continuity of care administered in a caring and friendly environment by dedicated professionals wholly committed to serving them. As one of largest employers in Columbus, CCH also contributes to the economic health of the surrounding area. CCH’s not-for-profit community ownership ensures that resources are committed to improving quality of care in conjunction with meeting the health care needs of Columbus and the surrounding area.
HISTORY
In February 1950, CCH opened its doors as a non-profit community hospital with 21 beds. Since that time, we have grown with the needs of the community, and today we have 40 beds with 16 active physicians on our medical staff as well as physicians providing services in a consulting capacity. We are considered an acute care hospital employing over 175 people.
James Vanek serves as the hospital CEO, with oversight provided by a Board of Trustees comprised of members of the community who donate their time and energies.

The Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary, comprised of dedicated and helpful volunteers, is hard at work to benefit Columbus Community Hospital and its patients. The Auxiliary plays an important role in fundraising activities to purchase hospital equipment and maintains the hospital gift shop, an excellent source of items to help cheer new mothers and recovering patients.
The team also serves as an excellent source of new ideas and innovative approaches for the continual improvement to the health of our community.

The purpose of the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation is to provide aid to the Columbus Community Hospital through direct monetary assistance and grants, through operation of and assistance in the provision of health services for persons residing in the service are of Columbus Community Hospital, and through operation of and assistance to activities to improve the delivery of health care, the health status and the general welfare of persons residing in the service area of Columbus Community Hospital.
