Columbus Community Hospital has received a generous donation from the Lynch Family Charitable Trust for the purchase of new equipment for the neonatal and maternity departments at the hospital.
“With other rural hospitals challenged to keep maternity services available, Columbus Community Hospital is in a unique position of expanding its services for new moms and babies, in part thanks to the support and generosity of community leaders like the Lynch family,” said James Vanek, Columbus Community Hospital CEO.
The new equipment includes an infant warmer and a neonatal bili light, a phototherapy machine to treat newborn jaundice. The donation will also cover a new badge system to enhance security protocols for visitors to the maternity ward.
The Lynch Family Charitable Trust is operated by Drew and Kimberly Lynch. Drew also serves as chair of the Columbus Community Hospital Board of Trustees.
“Supporting our community’s hospital has always been a priority of our family,” said Drew Lynch, “We’re incredibly proud of the work our hospital does to keep this region healthy, and we welcome any opportunity to strengthen that work.”
Columbus Community Hospital is designated as a Level II Maternal Care Facility and a Level I Neonatal Facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Both designations were earned after a thorough assessment and review of the hospital’s maternal and neonatal care programs, facilities, and staff and demonstrate the hospital’s advanced capabilities.
