Every year, 2-10% of pregnancies in the U.S. are affected by gestational diabetes. Poor control of diabetes during pregnancy increases the chances for birth defects and other serious complications for the mother. Proper health care before and during pregnancy can help prevent birth defects and other health problems.
Columbus Community Hospital is hosting a free class at the Columbus Wellness Center to help patients manage gestational diabetes through eating healthy foods and regular exercise. The class will be available:
- Monday December 19, 3:00 p.m. at the Columbus Wellness Center
Those interested in participating in the class can call Patt Dittmer at (979) 493-7625
