(Columbus, TX) – Columbus Community Hospital was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country.
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) announced the 20 highest-ranked Prospective Payment System (PPS)hospitals in the\ country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. The selected hospitals are identified through the Hospital Strength INDEX®, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of U.S. rural PPS hospital performance. These rural and community hospitals will be recognized during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit, a virtual event, on May 6.
The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals are inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, costs, charge, and financial efficiency.
“On behalf of all of our physicians, nurses, and clinical and administrative staff, I am delighted that Columbus Community Hospital is recognized for its dedication and commitment to delivering the highest quality care to our community,” said James Vanek, CEO, Columbus Community Hospital. “We hear from our patients every day what our hospital means to them, and to have that impact recognized nationally is significant. There’s never been a more important time to have accessible, local health care, and it’s our privilege to be our community’s source for clinical excellence.”
