A total wellness facility that’s more than just a gym.
Melanie Appelt has called Columbus home for almost 40 years but never felt comfortable at any of the area gyms. When the Columbus Community Hospital Wellness Center opened, Melanie was immediately interested because of its focus on total wellness and being more than a gym.

“I joined because I wasn’t feeling 100% and I knew I could do better. I love that they have something for everyone and a lot of things I can try.”
Melanie visits the Wellness Center multiple times a week to use the walking track and attend water aerobics classes and also participates in the dietitian-led Be Well Program. The Wellness Center’s welcoming environment and friendly staff help Melanie and other members improve their health and get connected with the Wellness Center’s various offerings, like nutrition demonstrations and group fitness classes.
“It’s great that Columbus Community Hospital has introduced a Wellness Center into the community,” said Melanie. “They’re incorporating every aspect of wellness to keep people healthy and reduce the need for a trip to the hospital.”
The Wellness Center is designed as a well-rounded facility to promote total wellness. The center incorporates high-tech exercise equipment, physical therapy, nutrition education, and fitness classes to create a place where everyone can build towards better health.
